Postoctoral Fellow
Antoni Aguilar-Mogas was born in Barcelona (Spain) on 1978. He studied chemistry at the Universitat de Barcelona where he obtained his bachelor's degree on 2005. He joined Prof. J. M. Bofill's research group on theoretical organic chemistry, as a PhD student, that same year, focusing on the development of new methodologies to locate reaction paths. His main research topics also included studies on electronic structure, quantum dynamics and bohmian mechanics. He completed his PhD studies on 2011, obtaining his doctoral degree with honors. He then became (non-tenured) assistant professor on the same university. He left his position for a postdoctoral fellowship on the SEES lab, where he conducts his research nowadays, his main interests being the understanding of the existing relations between the proteins of living organisms, the ellucidation of the underlying processes on growth and evolution, and the possibility to establish a reference ancestor group of essential molecules for life.
